Polytrichloroethylene (PCTFE) is a polymer compound made of trichloroethylene by polymerization. Low molecular weight is liquid or waxy. High molecular weight is a white solid or dispersion. Solid density 2.1~2.2. Melting point 208~210℃. Resistance to heat, acid and alkali (except halides), but not to molten caustic soda and elemental fluorine. Soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons and carbon tetrachloride. Chemical resistance second only to teflon. It can be used as engineering plastics. Tensile strength 3.096~4.135 mpa (316~422 kg force/cm 2). Generally used in high performance requirements of chemical equipment, insulated cables, radio, capacitors and heat or low temperature resistant accessories. The dispersion is used to make corrosion resistant coatings and films.

The synthesis methods of polytrifluorochloroethylene include bulk polymerization, solution polymerization and dispersion polymerization, etc. Peroxides are used as initiator to prepare by free radical polymerization.

Polytrifluorochloroethylene has excellent chemical stability, insulation and weather resistance, can be used in -196 ~ 125℃ for a long time, mechanical strength and hardness is better than PTFE, made of film has better transparency and lower breathable rate.

Polytetrafluoroethylene is suitable for use in contact with strong corrosive media, high pressure system sealing and liner materials, observation window transparent materials, as well as electrical insulation materials, so in the chemical industry, atomic energy industry has special significance, but its price is more expensive than PTFE. Low molecular weight polytrifluorovinyl chloride has high density, excellent viscosity - temperature characteristics and chemical corrosion resistance, can be used as a highly corrosive medium of sealing liquid, grease and navigation gyro balance liquid.

PCTFE has excellent rigidity, low temperature resistance, cold flow resistance, is an ideal sealing material under low temperature and high pressure conditions, has a special use in the high-tech field.

Application:

1. Contact strong corrosive media, sealing and gasket materials of high pressure system, transparent materials of observation window, etc.

2, electrical insulation materials, etc.

3. Low molecular weight PCTFE is used as sealing liquid of highly corrosive medium, grease and balance liquid of navigation gyro.
