PET together with PBT is collectively known as thermoplastic polyester, or saturated polyester. The chemical structure of PET and PBT is basically very similar, but there are still some differences between PET and PBT, as engineering plastics have different applications.

Containing rigid phenylene, polar ester group, flexible methylene, generally showing greater rigidity, so that it has a higher glass transition temperature and higher melting temperature, ester group polymer has a certain water absorption, hydrolysis.
