LNP™ KONDUIT

Heat-conducting plastics

SABIC Foundation Innovative Plastics - SabIC-IP

LNP™ KONDUIT is the trade name of a thermal or thermal insulating plastic material manufactured by SBAIC-IP Saber Basic Innovative Plastics (formerly GE)

SABIC LNP-KONDUIT composites are the first heat-conducting composites on the market. LNP™Konduit composites conduct heat 10 to 50 times more than traditional unfilled thermoplastics, conducting heat from equipment to radiators or the surrounding air, designed to extend product life and enhance design freedom.

High thermal conductivity provides thermal conductivity of 1-18W/mK, sufficient for large amounts of heat transfer, providing new freedom for part design and metal replacement.

Strength A small amount of glass fiber reinforcement can be added to increase the strength of Konduit composite plastics.

Improved Efficiency and Life Range By reducing the operating temperature, thermal conductivity improves the electrical efficiency of packaged motors, resulting in more available power and torque, lower current consumption, faster response times, and longer equipment life.

An expansion coefficient comparable to a metal can be formulated to approximate a linear thermal expansion coefficient (CLTE) of many metals, potentially reducing product failure and extending product life.

Enhanced design freedom provides vibration reduction and can be injection molded.
