LNP™ FARADEX is the trade name of conductive/electrostatic /EMI electromagnetic shielding /ESD electrostatic protection plastic material produced by SBAIC-IP Saber Foundation Innovative Plastics (formerly GE)

SABIC LNP™FARADEX™ modified plastics provide electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference (EMI/RFI) attenuation in electron-to-material handling applications. The conductive fibers form the conductive network required for EMI/RFI shielding. Faradex modified plastics can also be used in applications requiring electrostatic discharge (ESD).


LNP-Faradex composite plastics have mechanical properties, component weight and design freedom similar to standard unfilled base resins. They reduce the total cost of the system by avoiding costly secondary steps.


Deep attenuation EMI/RFI shielding is between 30-1000 MHz and 40-60 dB.


Fiber shielding is done with conductive stainless steel fibers at appropriate load levels. It can also be used in applications requiring electrostatic discharge (ESD).


The strength is similar to the mechanical properties of standard unfilled base resins. If desired, additional glass or carbon fiber reinforcement materials can be used to enhance strength and stiffness or control mold shrinkage.


Flame retardancy can be compounded with flame retardants (FR), including halogen-free flame retardant plastics.


Helps control EMI/RFI attenuation of the entire component without secondary spraying or attachment of conductive fabric. The design freedom of injection molding provides an advantage for complex part designs, where metal spraying or conductive grids are much less efficient.


Helps provide consistent protection from surface scratches or nicks due to electrical conductivity that permeates the entire component.
